MENTAL health charity MIND is challenging people in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale to participate in one of its new events in the New Year.
MIND's Cuba Trek and Cuba Cycle will raise vital funds to help improve the lives of people who experience mental distress.
The Cuba Trek sets off in the Sierra del Escambray mountain range, and takes participants through limestone canyons and across forested hillsides on mule tracks and footpaths. It also passes coffee plantations, mango orchards and crystal clear waterfalls.
The Cuba Cycle, which is set among palm trees, pineapple plantations and tropical vegetation, is a 340km route which takes cyclists along the Caribbean coastline and into the depths of mountainous interior.
For both events there is an initial registration fee of £299 and a minimum sponsorship level to raise. Entrants will receive all accommodation and meals. People don't have to be super-fit as Mind will provide training advice for trekking and cycling, to ensure everyone is ready for the challenge. Prizes will also be awarded to top fundraisers.
