St Wilfrid's 'B' under 13s showed they had nerves of steel to win their age group in the second Blackburn with Darwen Schools Girls Football Tournament.
For the super Saints lifted the cup after a sudden death penalty shoot-out win against St Bedes who themselves were involved in plenty of drama.
For St Bedes only booked their place in the final after beating St Wilfrid's 'A' in a golden goal play-off after both finished on the same points in the group stage.
It was the culmination of another successful event which was organised and funded by the School Sports Co-ordinator Programme.
The event attracted teams from 10 schools from across the borough who were split in to two groups in each section.
St Wilfrid's 'A' were drawn alongside Westholme, Pleckgate 'A', Our Lady and St John's and Witton.
And the Saints stormed to the top of the table to finish first with 20 points, four ahead of Westholme who took runners-up spot. Pleckgate 'A' were third with 11 points.
The real drama began to unfold in Group B which contained St Bedes, Beardwood, Darwen Vale, St Wilfrid's 'B' and Pleckgate 'B'.
After the group stages, St Bedes and St Wilfrid's were locked on 18 points and, having the same goal difference, the two sides had to take part in a play-off to decided who would go through to the final.
The game was a tight affair and with just 30 seconds remaining, St Bedes scored a golden goal winner. The final proved to be another tense match and, after ending goalless, went to a penalty shoot-out.
With the scores level at 4-4, Abby Woodhouse put St Wilfrid's 5-4 up before Heather Bickerton pulled of a fine save to clinch victory.
But St Bedes made up for losing out on the under 13s title by dominating the under 16s.
St Bedes 'A' finished top of Group A after a 3-0 winner-takes-all win against Our Lady and St John's who had to settle for second spot.
And with the school's 'B' team topping Group B, the final was an all-St Bedes affair with the 'A' team emerging triumphant.
