PARISH and Town Councils in Pendle are to receive a rise in the amount of cash they receive in funding from the borough council.
A meeting of Pendle Councillors agreed a 4.4per cent increase in the funding, which amounts to about £3,000.
The Conservative group had originally intended to propose a three per cent increase, but was happy to accept the proposal from Liberal Democrat Councillor David Whipp.
He said the rise would allow the town and parish councils to continue with their good work.
The town and parish councils can now finalise their budgets for the next year and set their council tax precepts.
