A NELSON charity shop has re-opened in time for the New Year after being destroyed by fire six months ago.
The British Heart Foundation shop, Scotland Road, was opened by the Mayor of Pendle, Coun Mohammed Iqbal.
The first floor of the shop was targeted by suspected arsonists in July.
Christine Osborne, manager of the store and her assistant Rachel Anderson, worked at other British Heart Foundation shops during three months of renovation works.
The pair are now back behind the counter in time for the New Year celebrations. Local shops donated goods for a raffle that was held at the shop.
The Nelson shop has 18 volunteers.
The store is looking for more volunteers, particularly people who have a good knowledge of books who can work on the shop floor for a few hours each week.
