THE local pub is THE place to spend New Year's Eve, according to a licensee association boss.
The town centre clubs and big pubs in Blackburn, Burnley, Accrington and other towns throughout East Lancashire will be heaving with folk looking for the best in music and cheap drinks come tomorrow night.
But Michael Igoe, president of Burnley's Licensed Victualler's Association, said there was nowhere better to enjoy bringing in the New Year than the local and more people were beginning to agree with him.
Michael, who runs the Foresters Arms in Todmorden Road, Burnley, said: "We put entertainment on, there is a family atmosphere and good crack. New Year's Eve is all about a good friendly atmosphere."
