MEMBERS of North Turton Parish Council are hoping for a positive response to their concerns over the state of the roads in Belmont, Chapeltown and Edgworth.
The parish council has written Blackburn with Darwen Council to point out the continuing deterioration of the road surfaces and the increasing number of pot holes on roads throughout the parish.
Parish council chairman David Smith said urgent action was needed. He said: "The roads are in a bit of a mess. Some are atrocious.
"They can't even be descried as pot holes. They are big holes. The council is spending money patching up the holes but it really needs resurfacing."
