IT WAS party time for Walter Robinson when he clocked up his 100th birthday.
The former livestock farmer joined fellow residents and staff of Henley House retirement home in Accrington for a right royal knees-up as he was presented with his telegram from the Queen.
The sixth of 12 children, Walter was born at Brockthorne Farm, Tosside, in Bowland.
He later farmed the surrounding countryside for more than half a century.
He married his first wife Clarice Cowking, from Dalehead, now submerged beneath Stocks reservoir.
After being widowed, he married his second wife, Alice Elliot, of Barnoldswick, at the age of 77.
But Walter was widowed again 12 years ago.
Among the family attending his party were his son, Geoffrey, and daughter-in-law, Shirley, from Clitheroe, and daughter Jennie and husband Geoff, of Aysgarth Drive, Accrington.
His last surviving sibling, Monica, of Bolton-by-Bowland, also joined the celebrations.
Walter has seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren and is still fit and active.
He is now planning a second birthday bash for his family in Bolton by Bowland in January.
