WINTERY weather left a few feathers ruffled at Ramsbottom's annual gamecock show.
The Holcombe Old English Game Fowl Club say the snow meant the numbers of birds entered for the 161st annual show were down on previous years.
And judge Fred Haworth described the standard among this year's 82 entrants as "mediocre."
"There were some good and some bad. It is down to the weather keeping people away," he said.
Owners had travelled to the Old Dun Horse pub, in Bolton Street, from as far afield as Wales, Durham and Cumberland to take part and more than 150 visitors attended in the afternoon when the event opened to the public.
The prize for the best in show went to George Meekin from Astley for his cock class winner while the local class was won by Barry Smithson from Haslingden.
Mick Greenwood took the award for the best hen class while the prize for the best stag went to Jake Walford and the pullet class winner was Dewi Jones.
