THE worst fog and frost of the winter created chaos among traffic, blocked out the January sales and washed out important sport fixtures.
The fog was worst in Accrington where people on their way home from parties could not drive across the town and had to abandon their cars. And 73-year-old James Duxbury, postmaster and newsagent in Hoddlesden, looked back on the 61 years he had spent in the job.
