AN award-winning chef has brought a touch of culinary class to a new-look Shuttleworth pub.
Twenty-year-old Daniel Kirkpatrick, a former De Vere Hotels Young Chef of the Year, is the new man in the kitchen at the Eagle and Child in Whalley Road.
Along with fiance Victoria Pervical, 22, and future mother-in-law Christina, 57, the trio are looking to revitalise the pub on a number of levels after taking over the reins.
"Our main focus is obviously on catering with a varied, specialist and affordable menu on offer throughout the week," said Daniel, who also has a Lancashire cooking accolade to his name. "We're looking to introduce an al fresco eating area that will make the most of the spectacular views over the West Pennine Moors and open up the first floor as a function room."
In addition, the Eagle and Child is also set to play host to a series of casino and charity nights, all with a culinary twist.
He added: "We don't simply want to be seen as a run-of-the-mill pub."
