PARENTS wishing to return to further education are invited to visit the Darwen Access Point.
Darwen Adult Education Centre will be running a 15-week Access to Further Education course there, starting this month. The course is aimed at adults who would like to return to education and gain qualifications.
Two Open College A units (OCA) are included in the course - OCA Sociology and OCA Health Studies - together with Key Skills in maths and communication and a tutorial.
They will run over two days, between 9.30am and 3pm to fit in with school hours.
The Access to Further Education course can lead on to higher level study such as OCB units and HNCs in various subjects. No formal qualifications are needed to take part in the courses and registration is £10.
An information session will be held on Wednesday, January 14, from 10am to noon, at Holker House, in Railway Road. Alternatively, the OCA courses in sociology and health studies can be studied separately. OCAs in criminology and psychology will also be available in Darwen.
For further information on any of the mentioned courses, call in at either of the Darwen Adult Education Centres, at Holker House, or at the College Office, Darwen Access Point, Duckworth Street, or telephone 01254 706555 or 01254 760681.
