I RECENTLY visited a friend at Chapelfield, Radcliffe, and noticed that two wooden fence panels had been fitted to replace two that were stolen. Two days later they were also gone!

Next day I noticed the panels waiting to be collected and reported it to the town hall, suggesting they come and collect them before it was too late, or alternatively inform the police. Nothing happened and the following day they were gone.

I don't know what two wooden panels would cost but obviously our cash-strapped council felt it was less trouble to buy two more than to get out there and retrieve the stolen ones.
