A TERRIFIED Bacup teenager had a gun put between his eyes and was told his face would be blown off after he was kidnapped by two men.

Burnley Crown Court heard how the 16-year-old ended up looking down the barrel of the weapon after being dragged into a house on Rochdale Road in the town.

He was told he would be killed if he did not drop charges and was warned to tell his friends they would get the same treatment.

Glenn Uttley, 30, who had drugs to the tune of more than £4,000 and £1,300 cash at his home when police later raided it, was yesterday jailed for three years and nine months.

Sentencing, Judge Christopher Cornwall told the defendant his behaviour had been disgraceful and the victim must have been terrified.

He said he accepted Uttley was unaware his accomplice was in possession of the gun until it was produced but he should have helped the boy as threats were made to him.

Uttley, of Thornylea, Whitworth, had earlier admitted kidnap, witness intimidation, and possessing ecstasy, amphetamine and cannabis with intent to supply. He must pay £550 costs.

The court had been told how Paul Mitchell, a friend of the defendant, had had an altercation with the 16-year-old.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, complained to the police and Mr Mitchell was arrested and charged. He then sought Uttley's help and the defendant told him he would "sort it."

On May 2 last year, Uttley and a man whose identity remained in dispute, approached the victim. The defendant seized him by the neck and the other man then pushed him over a wall and produced an imitation firearm.

John Maxwell, defending, said in certain areas, youths were out of control.
