VISITORS to a park in Colne will see more colour than usual this spring after schoolchildren helped increase the amount of bulbs planted.
Sixty pupils from Sacred Heart Primary School, in Red Lane, helped Pendle Council Park Rangers Service and the Friends of Alkincoats Park to plant 8,000 crocus bulbs.
The total is four times the usual amount, thanks to the young volunteers' help.
The bulbs were planted at various locations in the park.
Fred Stewart of Pendle Council's parks section said: "This number of bulbs will bring colour and beauty to the park for people to enjoy for many years to come."
