A FILM company are looking for locations fit for the silver screen for their latest production.

Standish Films, based in Wigan, is set to start shooting a television film early this year, but are short of one thing -- locations.

The project needs certain settings for the film, which must all be close by, so the cast and crew can get to them easily.

Now the company are asking anybody with somewhere suitable in mind in the north west to get in touch.

Peter Jones, managing director of the company, who also acts as sound and lighting technician, said: "We will definitely look at anything suggested to us.

"It is a question of getting the location. That is the most important thing.

"We need a doctor's surgery and we would like it to be near a village hall and, if possible, we need a country house."

So far the company has looked at locations everywhere from Oldham to Cumbria.

Local actors, experienced camera crew operators and even caterers are needed to work on the production, set to be an hour-long thriller called Intruder.

If a suitable location can be found, the film could join the ranks of the productions filmed in East Lancashire.

Hit crime drama Hetty Wainthrop Investigates was filmed in Darwen, and Born and Bred was made in Downham.

Mr Jones said: "Some of the locations we have looked at have been out in the wilderness, so we are looking for something that is easy to get to."
