Warrington Wolves 34 Leigh Centurions 16 by Mike Hulme: LEIGH Centurions showed off the youngsters they hope will become rugby league stars as they lost 34-16 in a friendly at Warrington.
New signings Oliver Wilkes and David Larder made their debuts in a youthful Centurions side.
Warrington raced into a 12-0 lead through tries from Dean Gaskell and Brent Grose, both converted by Nick Owen.
Second-rower Wilkes impressed, as did 17-year-old James Taylor in defence.
Scrum-half John Duffy created two of Leigh's three tries, chipping over the top for Danny Halliwell to score in the first half and starting the move which ended with Dave Alstead going over right at the end.
Tommy Grundy scored Leigh's other try. Gaskell (2), Grose and Hulse completed the scoring for Warrington.
