POLICE are hunting three teenage robbers who forced their way into a Brierfield home and stole £100.
The offenders, three Asian males, called at a house in William Street at 6pm on New Year's Day and barged past the 48-year-old occupant when he answered the door.
Two of them held the victim down while the other made violent threats and searched the property. The victim told police he thought they may have had a knife, but was not certain.
The robbers made off with £100 in cash. The victim, who was on his own in the house, was not hurt but was extremely shaken by the ordeal, detectives said.
The offenders were all described as being aged 16 or 17. The one who searched the house is said to be 5ft 4ins, clean shaven and of slim build. He was wearing a woollen cap and a fleece jacket with white squares on either side of the zip.
The two who held the man down are both described as being 5ft 6ins and wearing woolly hats. One was wearing a fleece jacket and the other a raincoat.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has any information about the incident, or recognises the descriptions, to contact Nelson CID on 01282 472645 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
