BUSES in East Lancashire were to be savagely cut as transport chiefs frantically re-arranged schedules to cope with shortages in the supply of fuel.
Burnley's buses finished at 8pm whereas Rossendale's stopped at 6pm.
And Platt Saco Lowell the big textile machinery manufacturer announced a reorganisation to extend machinery building in Accrington.
