WEST Coast Main Line train services are being diverted through East Lancashire while engineering work takes place between Preston and Lancaster.
Virgin services from London to Glasgow will reach Carlisle via Blackburn and the Ribble Valley every weekend until February 8 to allow the work to take place.
No official stops are timetabled for the area, but the journey time from London to Glasgow will be increased considerably.
Local trains from Preston to Lancaster and beyond, such as those operated by First North Western, will be replaced by coach services.
