A SPEEDING car demolished a garden wall in Bury after losing control and mounting the pavement.
The Honda Civic smashed into the one metre high wall at a house at Rhiwlas Drive, Bury, late on Saturday.
Four Asian men were spotted sprinting away from the scene.
Mrs Sandra Leyland, who lives in the house, was in the front room of the property when the car careered into a 10ft section of her wall.
"I thought it was a wagon out of control," she said. "I heard a noise and then the bang. I looked out of the window and saw the car in the garden.
"I saw four men running from the vehicle. Because it was damaged, they all had to get out the passenger side at the front."
Fire crews and police were at the scene within minutes and later the Honda Civic was taken away. Police investigations into the incident are continuing. It is not known whether the car was stolen.
