A LITTER-FREE town is one of the objectives of a two-year action plan drawn up to boost Oswaldtwistle.
The plan has been put together following a community appraisal carried out by the town's Prospects panel last year. It lists a number of projects to improve the environment and will be implemented by the panel and other partners over the next two years.
Other ideas include a town map highlighting places of interest in the town and developing a tree nursery and organic garden at Tinker Brook for the local community.
The appraisal gave residents the chance to express their views on the environment and put forward suggestions.
The best ideas have been included in the plan, which will be distributed to community groups, schools, businesses and householders.
Volunteers are now being sought to carry out the work. For more information call Shonagh Ingram on 01254 380675.
