PUNK Rock is back! That's the message from North Bar, Blackburn, which has announced a monthly live punk rock night to satisfy demand more than a quarter of a century since punk first raged on to the scene.
But it's not just old rockers who are enjoying the music -- youngsters who are fans of today's punk bands such as Blink 182, Green Day and The Offspring, are getting into the roots of the movement, according to Andy Fouldes, the promoter behind the new nights.
He said: "There is definitely a demand for it. Punk nights are springing up all over the North West now. It's a really strange mix at the gigs . You get old punk rockers bringing along their kids!".
To start off the new nights, the band once dubbed the British Ramones, 'The Lurkers' will be playing on February 6. The gigs will then take place the last Friday of every month. Tickets are £5 in advance and £7 on the door.
