A PUBLIC inquiry into a Blackburn bus company which stopped services leaving passengers stranded, has been adjourned.
The inquiry into Buzy Bus line and Catchmebus.com, both run by Blackburn Transport Ltd, was called after it the firm stopped operating in November without telling the Traffic Commissioner. The firm is also alleged to have failed to give the required 56 days' notice before terminating services.
The inquiry heard that Suzanne Bailey, transport manager for Buzy Bus and Catchmebus.com resigned as director of Catchmebus.com, and her husband resigned as director of Buzy Bus at the end of November last year.
Traffic Commissioner for the North Western traffic area, Beverley Bell said she was satisfied Suzanne Bailey should be regarded as the "brains of the company" but that she was not currently in a medically fit state to give proper instruction and adjourned proceedings until February 9.
