THE fuel crisis in East Lancashire got worse as petrol-hungry motorists scoured filling stations to fill emptying tanks.
Motorists were up at dawn hunting fuel, and one garage in Blackburn reported having a queue at 6am and a line -up of cars 300 yards in length for most of the morning.
The £8m final contract for the building of the Burnley to Brierfield section of the Calder Valley M65 motorway was awarded by Lancashire County Council to Bedford firm RDL Construction Ltd.
