FA Cup hero Ian Moore has Crystal Palace firmly in his sights this weekend.

The in-form Clarets striker, whose double saw off Mansfield at the weekend, now has five goals in seven games as he edges closer to his start-of-season target.

But along with strike partner Robbie Blake, Moore's more pressing concern is lifting the Clarets away from the First Division relegation zone - starting at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

"Bring on 2004," roared Moore. "After winning the first game, we're all looking forward to try and get something going now.

"The cup run is probably going to keep the season going for many fans, but from where we are at present, I know the gaffer would rather win the games in the league and we feel the same. The cup is important to us, but points matter now.

"Looking at the forthcoming fixtures, we have difficult games everywhere you look.

"Before Christmas, the Stoke game looked to be the one we could pick some points up, but obviously that didn't happen.

"It wasn't for the lack of trying though and we just have to stick together. We have great team morale among a decent set of lads here, I've never seen any heads drop and we will definitely be okay."

Moore, whose prolific partnership with Blake has so far reaped 24 goals, added: "There can't be many more partnerships with as many to their name.

"People moan that I don't get enough goals, but I've got 10 now and we still have 20 league games to go.

"It's up to me now to beat my target and I really should be doing that because I only need five to beat my previous best of 14.

"The first aim is to get past that and then I'll see how far I can go."

The FA Cup fourth round tie, at home to Gillingham, may be put on a back burner for a couple of weeks now as the Clarets look to rack up the points at Palace, then at home to WBA.

But Moore, who holds an amazing record of having scored in the third round for each of the past five seasons, already has one eye on boosting his total at the Gills expense.

He explained: "It was a great start for the new year for me and in many ways like the beginning of the season.

"You're always looking to get a goal as early as you can and it's strange how I always seem to do well in the FA Cup.

"The third round has been especially good to me and I just seem to score and do well in it every year, right back to my Stockport days.

"I can't put my finger on why it happens - luck I suppose!"

Burnley Reserves are back in action this afternoon when they face Huddersfield at the McAlpine Stadium (2pm).
