A GREEN lobby group is appealing for East Lancashire people to recycle unwanted mobiles and computers.
Don't Bin It, Recycle It! is the slogan for the new campaign launched by the Green Organisation, to help save as much technology as possible from landfill sites.
The organisation, a non-profit group, can collect computers or more than ten phones.
Roger Wolens, national organiser of the appeal, said: "A lot of us take new technology for granted, and move on to the latest, quickest, smallest products without a second thought for the old equipment.
"Tons of perfectly good technology is scrapped in the aftermath of Christmas, but we can recycle it or pass it on to the less privileged who currently have little or no access to information technology at all."
The organisation can help recycle 'almost-new' technology, from an individual mobile phone or computer to a company's computer system.
Computers are collected wherever possible, and mobile phones can be sent directly for free, by posting them to Freepost, Green Organisation.
Anybody with computers or more than ten phones to dispose of, call 01604 810507 to arrange a free collection.
