PUB staff are the toast of regulars after baring their all for a 2004 charity calendar.

Eleven employees at Leigh's Waterside Inn stripped off to pose for the prototype put together by manager Dave Balmer, to boost funds for autistic children.

The head chef, bar staff and head doorman were among those who played their part and all are delighted with the subtle production!

Joint manager, Cassie Tyrrell, said: "The idea came from the September staff brainstorming session, not as a result of the "Calendar Girls" film. Because Dave had a new digital camera package he was keen on the project and took all the pictures."

The calendar is very well done with 'naughty bits' covered by strategically placed pub paraphernalia.

Cassie said: "A touch of humour doesn't do anyone any harm and everyone who was photographed is happy with it and can't wait for their own month to appear in the bar. No one was forced to take part.

"We hope it will become an annual thing and will try to think of a different twist for next year.

"We tend to do lots of team activities to help make coming to work fun for our 18 staff and to build up a strong team."

Starring in the January spot is barmaid Carrie McLoughlin.

February features head chef Gerry Ward who is followed by bar supervisor Liam Dwyer (March), barmaid Louise Anders (April), waitress Lucy Stanistreet (May), second chef Rob Bottomley (June), Shaun Warburton (July), Vicky France (August), head doorman Howard Green (September). Bar duo Angela Elcock and Bella Mitchell (October and November) star together as a couple of Christmas crackers for December.

The sepia coloured calendar, which is selling well, is available from the Canal Street pub at £3.99.
