Motorists could
be uninsured
SIR,
While sympathising with the traders of Atherton, as well as leaning towards the support of many people who believe Market Street should be fully pedestrianised, I suppose I could be accused of sitting on the fence.
I wonder if motorists who flout the law by driving through the town centre during unpermitted hours, realise that in the event of a serious accident they could find themselves uninsured?
Insurance companies will refuse to entertain their claim so drivers risk the possibility of losing their assets in compensation claims.
