PUBS, nurseries and parks have opened tree-cycling centres for people to dispose of their real Christmas trees.
The official Wigan Council sites will be available for public use until Sunday, January 11. Trees collected will be turned into wood chippings for use as mulch in the borough's parks and gardens.
Collection sites include garden centres at Clarefarm, Nel Pan Lane, Leigh, Alder Lane and Laurel Nurseries, Atherton Road, Hindley, and Bickershaw Hall Nurseries, Bickershaw.
At Pennington Flash Country Park the site is at the lay-by before the bridge and at Lilford Park at the car park entrance at Elmridge.
Other sites are The Village Inn, Green Lane, Leigh, Pickley Green (opposite Crombouke Drive), Leigh, Astley Labour Club car park, The Queen Anne, Bridge Street, Golborne, and The Travellers Rest Inn, Newton Road, Lowton.
The household waste recycling centres at Slag Lane, Leigh, and Chanters, Atherton, will also be collecting.
