A VICIOUS serial rapist who terrorised two women days after being released from prison has been jailed for life. Burnley Crown Court heard how Sanders Hill, 31, who struck within hours of being seen by police, is so dangerous that he may never be freed.

The court heard Hill had just been released after serving a five-and-a-half year term of a 10-year sentence for two rapes, making a threat to kill and assault, when he struck in Burnley last August.

Police say the two attacks were almost carbon copies of the first two.

Hill, of Bread Street, Burnley, earlier admitted two counts of rape last August 14 and attempted rape and aggravated burglary with intent to rape last August 15.

Fiorella Brereton, prosecuting, said the first Burnley victim met the defendant in a pub in the town and then returned to her home where she was raped twice and left injured.

The day after the second woman was at her home where she suffered a vicious and frenzied attack by Hill.

He knocked at her door asked if his grandfather still lived there and then requested a glass of water. Hill then followed her inside, pulled out a pair of scissors and told her to keep quiet. He put the scissors to her throat making the victim think she was going to be stabbed as she tried to fight him off.

Miss Brereton said a neighbour heard the woman screaming for help and for police and went in the back door. Hill left taking the victim's purse with him. Police were called but the defendant had escaped.

Tim Storrie, defending, said the offences were horrific and Hill had inflicted unimaginable anguish on the two women.
