A POSTWOMAN found with amphetamine, said to have been given her as a slimming aid, has kept her freedom.
Burnley Crown Court heard how mother of one Victoria White, 35, had had nothing to do with drugs until she met dealer Glen Liversidge, 44, the father of her child.
White had previously been accused of being part of a criminal agreement to supply amphetamine on the streets of East Lancashire.
Liversidge, of Wren Street, and his sister's long-term boyfriend David Hancox, 39, of St Cuthbert Street, both Burnley, were earlier both found guilty by a jury of conspiring to supply amphetamine.
Liversidge was jailed for three years while his co-defendant was given two years behind bars.
Judge Raymond Bennett had discharged the jury from returning a verdict on White, of Castercliffe Bank, Colne, after she admitted possessing the drug.
White was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
John Woodward, defending, said had White not got involved with Liversidge she would never have come into contact with amphetamine.
Mr Woodward said when the defendant first met Liversidge she did not know he was anything more than a market trader and car dealer.
Liversidge was dealing in amphetamine unbeknown to White, he said. She had never been in trouble for anything in her life before and had done nothing more than worked hard to better herself
The barrister added White claimed Liversidge had given her amphetamine as a slimming aid.
