A MUSLIM organisation is appealing for East Lancashire to dig deep and raise funds for the people of Iran.
Muslim Global Relief's Nelson office is hoping to raise cash to help victims of the Bam earthquake, which killed about 30,000 people on Boxing Day.
Thousands of people are still homeless in the city, and victims are still being pulled out of the rubble.
Muhammad Farooq said: "It's winter out there at the moment and temperatures can drop below freezing. Most people have just got the clothing from when the earthquake happened."
So far the charity is just collecting cash, but Mr Farooq said they were talking to airlines to negotiate taking material aid out to the country.
To help, call the charity on 01282 604055.
