A BLACKBURN man was trapped in his car for 40 minutes on Saturday after driving into a lamp-post in Haslingden Road.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free Mohammed Gul Khan after his Honda Civic crashed into the post.
Police road safety officers said Mr Khan, 35, of Preston New Road, was treated at the scene by paramedics for a cut to his head and concussion.
The road was closed on one side as emergency crews cleared the scene and council workers made the lamppost, near Crossfields Car Sales, safe.
Police were due to interview witnesses later in connection with the incident today.
