THERE has been a great deal of discussion in your paper on the subject of speed cameras in Blackburn. Many of us have been amazed at their situations, often where one would find it difficult to speed because of all the illegally parked cars.
This issue is, I feel, one that is far more hazardous and never seems to be addressed in this borough.
The only people in Blackburn penalised are those who are already trying to park legally but may or may not even have overrun their time, according to your paper (recent letters).
There can be no doubt that these measures are fundraising, including the parking fees or fines. They make Blackburn a place to avoid visiting unless absolutely necessary.
M COOPER, Sunny Bower, Blackburn.
