IT comes as no surprise to discover that 53 speed cameras placed by the Lancashire Partnership may not meet government guidelines, nor that that organisation refuses to remove them.
I, and many others, have written to your newspaper with our suspicions that far more emphasis has been placed on money-making than safety. Such views have always been strenuously denied by the Partnership, but it now seems such denials were not true.
Is it not strange that no less than SEVEN 'rogue' cameras are on the A666, a main commuter route?
I suppose that with a partnership consisting of a police force with a dreadful detection rate and local authorities, most of which couldn't run a whelk stall, we should not be too surprised!
