Bury 2 Swansea City 0: BURY ended an eight-match losing streak with a very special performance against Swansea.
The look of delight on Graham Barrow's face at the final whistle said it all, as he celebrated his first game as permanent manager with a welcome three points.
Barrow's appointment, at least to the end of the season, was announced to the players on Friday.
And they responded to the news the best way possible with probably their most impressive showing of the season.
Boosted by the introduction of central defender Dave Challinor, on loan from Stockport County, the Shakers looked a million miles away from the weary outfit that had surrendered so many points in recent weeks.
And the way they made one of the division's quality teams look ordinary was a joy to behold for their care-worn fans.
Challinor's dominant display rubbed off on fellow stoppers Danny Swailes and Colin Woodthorpe who snuffed out the threat of Swansea's 19-goal dangerman Lee Trundle completely.
As well as the introduction of Challinor the side was boosted by the home debut of young Irish striker Jon Daly who is also on loan from Edgeley Park.
The opening goal arrived just after the hour mark when a Glenn Whelan corner kick was flicked on at the front post by Challinor and Danny Swailes headed home at the back stick.
The match swung the Shakers way even more fifteen minutes from time when City's Richard Duffy was red-carded for a rash challenge on Tom Kennedy.
The second goal was superbly executed by the impressive Daly expertly beating the offside trap and lobbing veteran keeper Roger Freestone from 25 yards.
"The win was more important than the performance today so to get both is a bonus," added Barrow.
"The players have set their standards to day with their work-rate and standard of play.
"I just wish I could turn the clock back and play some of the matches we lost recently with this team."
