THE Castle Knights took part in their first tournament of the New Year last week.
Members of the group for people with physical disabilities met at Castle Leisure Centre in Bury to compete in archery trials as well as other sporting events, testing their physical as well as mental skills.
Walter Dunn, chairman of the Castle Knights, said: "Castle Knights meet twice a week: on Monday for swimming and on Thursdays for a variety of different activities including bowling, archery, table tennis as well as board games such as chess and Scrabble."
Castle Knights has about 110 members, with up to 40 turning up for each session.
Mr Dunn said: "New members are always welcome, whatever their age. Castle Knights is for people with a physical disability. We are always on the look out for volunteers."
He added: "The Castle Knights gives members a chance to get out and about and be independent."
