LANCASHIRE mills were losing production because of a shortage of overlookers and twisters.
Harold Robinson, secretary of Blackburn Cotton Employers' Association said there were glorious opportunities for boys who were to get to the mills and be trained for the jobs.
Roller skater Marion Mercer of Great Harwood was to give a display on TV. Marion was to appear on a show called Roller Rendezvous.
