A FATHER-of-three threw a pint of lager over his estranged's wife's head and then attacked her brother when he went to her aid, a court was told.
Burnley Magistrates heard that jobless Mark Robert Anderson, 30, thought victims Deborah Anderson and Carl Lord were laughing at him when he turned up at a Burnley Pub.
Anderson, of Neston Road, Rochdale, admitted two counts of common assault. He was given a 12-monthsconditional discharge and ordered to pay £105 compensation.
Christiana Buchanan, prosecuting, said Mrs Anderson was living in Burnley with Mr Lord. He turned up at the Prairie pub, accused his wife of lying and poured lager over her.
When Mr Lord stood up, the defendant punched him in the face. He suffered injuries to his lip and his nose was bleeding heavily but he had made a full recovery.
The defendant's solicitor said Anderson apologised for his behaviour . He had no previous convictions for violence and the offences were out of character.
Anderson had taken the breakdown of his relationship very hard indeed. He found the victims talking and laughing about him. He was embarrassed, very upset and humiliated.
