MEMBERS of the Unify Credit Union, which covers Leigh, agreed to accept a 2.5 per cent dividend at Monday's annual meeting.
The community savings and loan co-operative offers savings with dividends and low cost loans to anyone who lives or works in the Leigh and Wigan area.
Chairman Peter Kelly said: "Financially, we are stronger than we ever have been with assets of approximately £150,000. Our membership has increased by 60%, shares by 35% and loans to members by 86%.
"We have been able to do this with the help and assistance of Wigan Community Credit Union Development Agency (WCCUDA) and Wigan Council and the financial support of a number of funding agencies.
