SHOCKED pupils were turned away from a primary school after the body of a teenager was discovered hanging in the grounds.
Nineteen-years-old Nikki Reynolds was found by an employee who arrived for work early on Friday morning at St Gabriel's School on the Higher Folds estate at Leigh.
He had last been seen the previous evening when he left his home in Sandringham Drive, opposite the school where he had also been a pupil.
The school was cordoned off and closed for the day but after a detailed investigation police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
It is believed that Mr Reynolds hanged himself after he had climbed onto a dustbin and secured a piece of electrical cable to the school building.
A former junior cricketer with Astley and Tyldesley CC, Mr Reynolds was living with his grandparents.
The coroner has been informed of his death.
