A TEENAGER who robbed a woman at tea-time on Tuesday in Westleigh is being sought by police.
Detectives are appealing for information after the 63-year-old woman was attacked near her home.
She had been shopping at Asda supermarket in Leigh and was making her way home when the robber stole her handbag.
Police say at around 4.50pm she walked passed Westleigh High School and headed towards a small row of shops when she remembers seeing two boys standing at a bus stop and another boy on the opposite side of the road.
The woman walked along a pathway leading to Priory Avenue and as she did so the boy from the opposite side of the road crossed over and walked ahead of her.
As she walked on to Priory Avenue the boy turned and grabbed hold of her handbag. The woman struggled to hold onto her bag but let go and fell to the ground when the boy shouted at her. Although slightly bruised she did not require hospital treatment.
The bag snatcher, who was white, aged 16-17, and wore a green canvas three-quarter length hooded jacket, ran off towards the school.
