AT the latter end of 2003, a speed camera was installed on Burnley Road in Accrington between Alice Street and Cambridge Street junctions.
As the Bolton Avenue/Burnley Road junction has many more motoring accidents (non-injury) and a high rate of speeding I thought that a camera would be sited near it and not where they decided to stick one.
I wrote asking for accident figures for the two sites but nowhere in the reply from the Lancashire Partnership does it state that there was an injury on the stretch of Burnley Road.
I can only conclude it must be the money making powers of the camera that had them site it where they did.
