THE UK's leading business mobile phone service provider has relocated to Bury with a pledge to create 100 new jobs.
The decision by Genesis Communications to move its head office to Waterfold Park, Bury, is the latest chapter in the success story of the site.
Genesis, part of Dixons Group plc, has transferred on to the Waterfold site already occupied by PC World Business which is part of the same group.
The company's 300-strong staff have moved from their previous base at Old Trafford. And the good news is that Genesis plans to increase the existing workforce to 400 over the next 18 months.
There are already 500 employees at the Waterfold site which will increase to more than 800 with the arrival of Genesis which will make the Dixons Group one of the region's biggest employers. PC World also opened a store in Bury in October last year.
Genesis managing director Rob Rawlinson is delighted with the news. "Moving to the £12 million Waterfold Park facility will enable us to fulfil our ambitious growth plans.
"The excellent staff facilities, convenient location and state-of-the-art logistics centre will keep the company at the forefront of the business mobile market.
"This will also be a great boost for the local economy as we look forward to grow our business and workforce over the next few years," he added.
