POOR Rev Roz Bond... Not only has the Aussie cleric had to uproot herself and travel 10,568 miles to get here.
But after touching down at Park Road Methodist Church, Lytham, she's been presented with a leaky roof, the task of collecting £200,000 for repairs and she's only got a year to do it!
Adelaide-born Roz arrived on the Fylde coast with husband, Geoff, in August last year for a one-year placement on the Lytham St Annes Methodist Circuit. Roz -- an Australian Uniting Church prison chaplain -- said: "Life in Lytham is certainly different from life in Australia.
"But I've been really encouraged by the support and friendship we've experienced so far has been fantastic."
Since arriving Roz has made some big changes at the listed 19th Century Wesleyan chapel, which is now open to the public every day.
As part of this she has organised a series of Australia Day Celebrations, including genuine Aussie 'tucker' from £3, which will take place from 2.30pm to 8pm on Sunday, January 25.
In addition to this members of the Park Road Sunday School and church choir have recorded a CD of Christian songs entitled 'Raising the Roof' priced at £9.99.
Roz said: "We'd like to invite everybody on the Fylde coast to come along, enjoy our entertainment and support our wonderful church."
