LEIGH Amateur Boxing Club is aiming to take its show on the road.
Following a second successful exhibition of sparring in front of a large audience, the club is planning a third display at the end of February.
It is also appealing to innovative landlords and businesses interested in putting on an amateur boxing show to get in touch.
The last exhibition saw newcomers making their debuts against some of the town's top fighters.
Among the junior section debutants were schoolboys Shaun Aldred, Ryan Blakeley, Duane Cottrell and Simon Wagstaff and girls Tillita Hayes and Roisin Fairclough.
Junior squad boxer Kieron McDonagh and junior academy boxers Martin Pilkington and David Morris put on cracking shows while Ryan Hughes and Stuart Hupton produced an exciting bout. Next up was junior boxer of the year light welterweight Robert Bordon against youth lightweight Itzhaz Balal in a good four round contest.
From the senior section middleweights Dave Wright and Nick White made strong debuts while super middleweight Stephen Armstrong also put on an impressive show.
Also taking a public bow middleweight Rory Roberts, 25, took on youth boxer of the year light middleweight Chris Jackson in a five rounder.
Anyone wishing to sponsor the club or make a donation should contact Adrian on 01942 602701. New members are welcome, juniors on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 5.30pm to 7pm (£1 session) and seniors Monday and Wednesday 7pm to 8.30pm and Friday 5.30pm to 7pm (£2 session).
