BURY College hosted its annual reunion for last year's A-level students.

They collected their examination certificates and renewed acquaintances with friends and staff.

Three students were presented with Against All Odds Awards. They were Louise Morris, of Bury, Adele Finnegan, of Bury, and Richard Hogg, from Bolton.

Louise re-sat her A levels and earned herself a place at the Royal Veterinary College in London.

Adele was not diagnosed with dyslexia until the end of the first year of her course, but she still passed her exams and is now training to be a nurse.

Richard arrived at the college with no GCSEs but passed three A-levels and has been offered a place at Salford University to study TV and radio production.

The award for Contribution to College Life went to Dawn Bushell, of Radcliffe, who was an active member of the College Community Group. She participated in many fund-raising activities and is now the college's student support worker.
