Over 500 people attended a celebration hosted by the Consul General of Pakistan Salludin Choudhry and Manchester Councillor Afzal Khan.
Representatives from Muslim, Jewish, Christian and Sikh communities participated and were joined by civic heads, city notaries and other dignitaries.
Councilor Khan told us, "This was a unique event as it was attended by people from all backgrounds and faiths from around the region.
"I feel it is important for the Muslim community to work together with as many different communities and other religions and I feel we went someway in realising that at this event."
A special £5000 cheque donation was made to Cheetham Muslims. The money will go to victims of the Iran earthquake.
Attendees on the night included; Mayors from six local boroughs, Peter Pike MP, High Sheriff of Manchester, the Right Reverand Nigel Mclough, Henry Gutterman, AK Sinha, Pandit Sharma.
Bjs Qawalli and the Shola group performed on the night and the award winning Qari Javed gave a beautiful naat exhibition.
The event was sponsored by Tababk Restaurant and held at the residency of the Pakistan Consul General.
