KODAK has announced it will no longer sell traditional cameras in North America or Europe. Instead it will be concentrating on digital ones, sounding the death knell on the 35mm. The demand for digital cameras now far outweighs that for traditional models, with cameras now in mobile phones and some the size of credit cards.

Kodak (www.kodak.com) will continue to sell film and accessories but this is a major shift from the company that brought photography to the masses.

AFIRM in Japan claims to have produced a machine that will allow you to create your own dreams.

To get your sweet dream you look at a photograph of your choice, record a story line into the "Dream Machine" and away you go. Using the recording as well as lights, music and smell the firm Takara Co. say your dream will be created when you are in a state of rapid eye movement.

The firm go on to say that they are still fine-tuning the machine with employees. I bet they are.

ROYAL Mail is offering you the chance to print stamps directly onto envelopes with its SmartStamp service.

At the Royal Mail site (www.royalmail.com/smartstamp) once you create an account you can print batches of envelopes directly from your PC, all stamped and ready to go.

The service even allows you to create a logo that you can incorporate into the printing on the envelope.

It costs £4.99 a month or £49.99 for the year and you can keep a record of the amount you have spent online.
