HORSE rider Felicity Coulthard is hoping her recent success in para trials at the weekend will be a good omen as she waits to hear if she has been chosen for a top training programme.
The 19-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer, from Essex Street, Darwen, hopes to hear in the next few weeks whether she has made it into the 2004 World Class Start and Potential programme, aimed at those believed to have the talent to make it to the Olympics by 2012.
Felicity won her classes at her latest competition at Myerscough College and is now practising for her next para trials on February 8, which will be held at Middleton Park, Leeds.
The much sought after training programe is lottery-funded through Sport England to support the country's most gifted up and coming riders in the Olympic Disciplines of Dressage, Paralympic Dressage, Eventing and Show Jumping.
Felicity, who rides and trains with both the Pendle Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) group and the RDA North West Dressage Group, is hoping she will not have to wait too long for good news.
